KENNETH S. AUGUST
Mr. August began his legal career with the firm of Lane & Edson, P.C., where he was part of the team that represented former U.S. Treasury Secretary William Simon's investment banking firm, WESRAY Corporation, in a variety of public and private financial transactions, management buy-outs and related corporate activity. Mr. August has also worked with the firm Dow, Lohnes & Albertson (where he represented a number of telecommunications companies, investment banking firms and commercial banks in a variety of corporate, commercial and financial transactions), and Graham & James (specializing in mergers & acquisitions, securities and joint venture transactions for the firm's international clientele). He left large law firm practice in October 1992 to focus on the representation of emerging and mid-sized corporate clients.
During his career, Mr. August has participated as legal counsel in transactions having an aggregate value of more than $2.5 Billion dollars. He has served as an Adjunct Professor both at Whittier Law School, teaching in the area of corporations and securities law, and for the University of California at Irvine Graduate School of Management on general legal issues impacting business professionals. He has lectured extensively in the areas of international business and financial transactional law, including for the Harvard Business School Association of Orange County in 2006, and was a contributing author on international mergers and acquisitions in the book The Art of M&A, published by Dow Jones-Irwin in 1987. Mr. August was a Founding Member of the College of Fellows of the Centre for International Legal Studies, headquartered in Kitzbuhl, Austria, and has served as a Director for the Singapore American Business Association (Southern California), the International Foundation for the Advancement and Support of Technology, as a Director and Past President of the Orange County International Business and Protocol Foundation, and as Chairman of the California International Business Advisory Board, Rancho Santiago Community College District. He is fluent in English, French and Spanish, and has a working knowledge of German, Italian, Portuguese and Russian.
Christopher T. Jain
Mr. Jain has over 10 years of experience in handling sophisticated business and financial transactions, with a sub-specialty in real estate transactions. A graduate of UC Berkley and the UCLA Law School, Mr. Jain�s expertise spans the gamut of transactional law, including public and private securities placements, SEC public company reporting and Mergers & Acquisitions. He has a sub-specialty in transactions involving real estate, including land purchase and sale transactions, leasing, real estate finance and the creation and maintenance of Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs). Prior to joining August Law Group, P.C., Mr. Jain has worked as an associate attorney at several Southern California-based law firms, including Horwitz & Beam, Oswald & Yap and with the San Diego office of the prestigious firm of Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison LLP. Mr. Jain�s legal accomplishments include serving as the Editor and Co-Founder of the Journal of International Law and Foreign Affairs (UCLA); contributor to the Pacific Basin Law Journal (UCLA), and winner of the American Jurisprudence Award for Property.

Martin King
Martin is a certified legal practitioner registered to practice in the People�s Republic of China, and has over eight years of focusing on Chinese corporations law, mergers & acquisitions, cross-border legal issues, real estate and dispute resolution processes in China. For the past five years, he has served as a named partner with the High Seas Law Firm, in Shenzhen, China. Prior to beginning his legal career, Martin worked for two years within the Shenzhen Industrial and Commercial Bureau, a governmental agency. Martin received his Bachelor of law from the Southwest University of Political Science & Law in 1993, and a Master�s Degree in Economics and Law from that same institution in 1996. His ability to assist companies working in and from China is of great value to our clientele.
WEI HAN JIAO
Wei Han Jiao earned his Masters Degree in Civil Law from Beijing University, and has over twelve years of experience practicing as registered lawyer in China, specializing in transactional and operational real estate law. With the ability to practice throughout China, Mr. Wei has recently been involved with several successful real estate projects located in the southern cities of Guangzhou and Shenzhen. In his capacity serving clients, Mr. Wei has served as a legal consultant for an important Chinese real estate developer, offering consultation and services in all aspects of real property law there, including project planning, the purchase and sale of real estate, legal solutions for various kinds of project management, subcontracting issues, legal assistance advising on regulatory issues and working with local and national governmental authorities, and providing coordinating services for complex management structures.
Vietnam Joint Venture
On September 15, 2009, we received formal authorization from the Ministry of Justice of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to create August Bao Law, a joint venture between August Law Group, P.C. and Cong Ty Luat TNHH B&P, a Vietnamese law firm owned by attorney Bao Anh Thai. This licensed joint venture represents the very first of its kind between a Western law firm and a Vietnamese law firm, and maintains offices in Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) and Hanoi. The firm will represent both Vietnamese and international clients engaging in corporate, financial, commercial, trade, banking, securities, mergers & acquisitions and other business transactions, focusing on a variety of sectors including real estate, energy, telecommunications, franchising and other important industries in Vietnam.
